The launch of the iPhone 15 series is just a few weeks away and more leaks are pouring in as the event is nearing with time. Apple is said to make some big changes in design and hardware. Now, the fresh leak claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will end the old mute switch, and the 5G phone will get a new button. This is not something that has been reported, but the images of the protective backpanel have been leaked online by tipster Majin Bu, giving us a better idea of what could be the design. The leak shows that the location of the mute switch button will change on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will happen after almost 16 years. The render of the case also shows that the device will feature a wider and more rounded button. If leaks and rumours are to be believed, Apple could offer a newly designed 'Custom Button' instead of a mute switch. Previously, it was reported that the flagship phone will have a multi-action button for controlling the camera and switching off the phone. There are chances that the same could be the function of the new button.
Additionally, the leak also seemingly suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a more prominent camera bump at the rear panel, which also hints that the handset will have an upgraded new camera setup. Apple is rumoured to employ a 48-megapixel rear camera on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
The new iPhones are expected to retain the old display sizes, but the next generation iPhones are said to come with thinner bezels design compared to the iPhone 14 series. This would offer a cleaner look and more screen space to users. Apple has already confirmed that it will ditch its proprietary Lightning port and launch iPhones with USB Type C ports. But, it is unknown whether the same will be implemented on this year's iPhones. The leaks have so far claimed that the iPhone 15 series will come with a USB Type C port, which will be a first for iPhones
Apple is also said to finally bring Dynamic Island feature to all the iPhone models. This basically means that we will get to see the punch-hole display design on all the iPhone 15 variants. Last year, only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max were introduced with the latest feature. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones are tipped to come with Apple's new Bionic A17 chipset. The standard model could use last year's Bionic A16 SoC, which is powering the iPhone 14 Pro models.
The official launch date for this year's iPhone 15 series is unknown for now because it is too early for Apple to announce a date. We will likely see the launch in September this year, similar to previous events.
